DoFollow or Fail- & Other Link Building & Bookmarking Mantras

There is no reason to try to reinvent the wheel. Every day I see really bad examples of companies and individuals using techniques that only lose them time, money and results.

If you are just getting started in the madness of link building and social bookmarking  for better organic search results, stop downloading paid e-books at $19.95 that confuse you the first time you read them and then get archived in your marketing resource folder, never to be seen again.

Posting random comments to random sites like yahoo answers and irrelevant bloggers that do not pertain to your business acumen will never help you and will only make you frustrated. Stop the madness and pay attention to people that have already had success and can help you gain success not wasted time. Get tons for tools inside.

#1. One of my favorite tools is Fire Fox Search Status- http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/. You can download it here to look before you post and make better decisions on where to post content and links. Here is an example of NOT re-inventing the wheel to gain great one-way links for your business.

#3: check out Caroline Middlebrooks blog for more insight and to learn how you can make money blogging as well. She has put together a wonderful list and does a great job at sharing information.

#4: She also talks about social bookmarking sites that do not offer real do follow backlinks but can help your content and links get aggregated if you offer great information. Here is her shortlist:

1. Delicious (8)
2. Furl (8)
3. Mister-Wong (7)
4. Blinklist (7)
5. Folkd (7)
6. NetVous (6)
7. Simpy (6)

So what about Blogs that are doFollow?

#5: Ok, please NO Spamming! This is so annoying and will only make people hate you! Remember the door to door person, knock, knock, who’s there? “It’s me, your friendly Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman and my vacuum is only $1500.00 for you today!”

Maybe you don’t, because in most cities door to door sale is banned now and illegal and can even get you arrested. I know this, because I started out in door to door sales and remember when it got tougher because consumers hated being bothered at home.

Screeeeechhh……

Treat others as you would like to be treated! Would you want someone spamming Viagra ads on your holistic blog? Say NO to Spam! Here are some great blogs to follow:
